Consultations & Health Exams
Keep on top of your pet's health with an annual examination to take care of vaccinations and parasite prevention, and discuss any behavioural or nutritional concerns.
Vaccinations
It is essential that all pets are appropriately vaccinated to help protect them and others against infectious illness and disease. Ongoing annual booster injections are required to maintain immunity.
Parasite Control
It is crucial to maintain a routine worming treatment for your pets, to reduce the incidence of infection and to reduce environmental contamination. There are many worming treatments available for intestinal worm & heartworm infections that occur in our pets, including injections, tablets, chews, and topical applications.
Dermatology
Our veterinarians can help relieve excessive scratching, skin chewing or biting, rubbing or scooting, flaky dry skin, and hair loss caused by underlying skin irritations.
Dentistry
Just like humans, pets’ teeth need looking after too! The health of their teeth and gum's has a significant impact on their overall quality of life. We perform dental examinations and comprehensive teeth cleans, including a scale and polish.
Radiography & Ultrasonography
We have a range of diagnostic imaging tools allowing us to efficiently and accurately diagnose and provide treatment to your pet.
Clinical Pathology
Our facility has a comprehensive in-house laboratory to carry out diagnostic testing. Examination of blood, fluids or body tissue helps us to identify irregularities and infectious disease.

Wellbeing Services
Microchipping
Microchipping is the only truly effective way of identifying your dog or cat should they go missing. Our microchips are completely safe for your pets, and are a permanent method of electronic identification.
Behavioural Advice
Behavioural problems are often the combined effect of many factors, including your pet’s environment and learning. We can help you implement a behavioural modification program for your pet including a holistic treatment plan.
Nutritional Advice
Nutrition is an important indicator of your pet's health and welfare. We can discuss any health, diet, or weight fluctuations during their examination and help you plan a diet to suit their age and lifestyle. Prescription diets may be required for patients with ongoing conditions.
Grooming & Nail Clipping
Grooming is essential, particularly for long-haired breeds. We offer a full range of grooming, bathing and clipping services for cats and dogs of all sizes and breeds.

Surgical Services
Desexing
Spaying or neutering your pet is a routine surgical procedure performed at Moranbah Veterinary Clinic. There are many benefits to desexing your pet, such as prevention of unwanted litters, decreasing aggression, and prevention of cancer and prostate disease in males.
Orthopaedic
Our clinic is fit out with two fully equipped surgical suites allowing us to perform a range of orthopaedic surgical procedures.
Dental
Dental disease is the most common condition affecting adult cats and dogs. We can assist with an extensive range of dental treatments from the elective to the unavoidable.
Soft Tissue
Our highly skilled veterinarians can perform the vast majority of soft tissue procedures such as large mass removals, caesareans, exploratory laparotomies, biopsies, wound stitches, removal of foreign bodies and more.
Ophthalmic
Many eye conditions can be treated medically, however, specific conditions may require surgery. We can provide a number of eye surgeries, from repairs to removals. Our veterinarians can also refer your pet to a specialist veterinary ophthalmologist for more specialised procedures.
Prophylactic
Different breeds and animals are predisposed to developing life threatening conditions such as cancer or GDV (gastric dilation and volvulus). Prophylactic surgeries are aimed at preventing these conditions from occurring via intervention.
Large Animal Services
On-farm Consultations
We offer on-farm consultations and treatment for equine, and large production animals. During consultation we can help with, physical examinations, vaccinations, parasite control, nutritional advice and much more.
Herd Health Management
Our vets are well equipped to assess your production herd and assist with decisions regarding disease prevention, nutritional management and biosecurity. We provide farm management consultancy and monitoring services for farmers across health, nutrition, and pasture management.
Bull Breeding Soundness Examinations (BBSE)
A breeding soundness examination will measure reproductive potential of a given male. There are multiple indicators that are reviewed to assess fertility and the likelihood of your bull establishing pregnancy.
Bull Semen Collection & Freezing
We offer BBSE accredited crush side semen testing and have the facilities for semen collection for outsource freezing.
Australian Stud Book Microchipping and Identification
All thoroughbred foals born in Australia are required to be microchipped as an additional form of identification. The microchip is injected into the nuchal ligament in the neck of the horse, and they have an anti-migratory cap which eliminates any movement.
Equine Castration / Gelding Procedure
Castration/Gelding is a routine procedure in equine practice and is normally performed between 6 and 12 months of age. All castrations are performed under general anaesthetic.
Equine Vaccinations & Dentistry
Horses require annual vaccinations and dental examinations just like our smaller pets. Annual vaccines include Tetanus, Strangles and Hendra. An annual health check is provided with your vaccination and dentistry visit which will allow early detection of any health issues.
Pregnancy Testing and Fertility Evaluations
Pregnancy diagnosis is crucial in managing herd reproductive performance. We can perform both manual palpation and ultrasound pregnancy testing for cattle and horses, and ultrasound scans for sheep and goats.
Surgery
A number of surgeries are provided by our large animal veterinarians, including cesarian section for cattle, calf hernia procedures and soft tissue surgery for horses.
Disease Investigation
Our highly trained staff have the skills to investigate disease from the individual animal up to herd level. We offer in house blood testing and outsource a large number of other diagnostic services.
